You’ve invested in premium Russian virgin hair and Bio Bond extensions — with the right care, your hair will stay beautiful, feel comfortable and last for months.
The good news? Our aftercare is simple. You don’t need expensive products or complicated routines. Just a few good habits.
The First 48 Hours
Please do not wash your hair for 48 hours after your fitting. This gives the Bio Bonds time to fully settle and secure comfortably to your hair.
If your hair becomes greasy before 48 hours, the earliest you should wash is 24 hours after fitting.
Before Your Appointment — Two Things To Know
If you colour your hair: have it coloured at least 2 weeks before your fitting. Fresh colour needs time to wash off and fade slightly before extensions are fitted.
If you have an event or holiday coming up: we recommend booking your fitting 2 weeks before — not the day before. This gives us time to make any small adjustments if needed, and gives you time to get comfortable wearing your extensions. This is advice we give every client and it genuinely makes a difference.
Washing Your Hair
Wash your hair at least twice a week and always after sweating heavily, getting caught in the rain, or a night out.
- Wash standing upright — not bending over
- Brush thoroughly before washing
- Do not rub or massage the root area around the bonds
- Do not apply conditioner directly to the root area
- Do not twist or rub the hair vigorously
- Always dry your hair fully after washing — especially the bonds. If you’re in a rush, at least blow-dry the bond area
- Never sleep with wet hair
Products We Recommend
You do not need expensive specialist products. High street products work perfectly well.
Some of our favourites:
- OGX Organix — Blue Keratin range or Coconut Oil range for washing and conditioning
- L’Oréal Extraordinary Oil — as a serum for shine and softness
- A good deep moisturising mask once a week keeps the hair feeling luxurious
Avoid products that are heavily alcohol-based as these can dry the hair out over time.
Swimming — Pool and Sea
Your extensions can handle swimming. However chlorine and salt water behave the same way on extensions as they do on your natural hair — they strip moisture and can leave hair dry over time.
Before swimming, loosely braid your hair to help minimise tangling.
- Try not to fully submerge your hair if possible
- Use a clarifying shampoo after swimming to remove chlorine or salt buildup
- Follow with a deep nourishing mask once a week to restore moisture
Sleeping
Before bed, loosely plait your hair into a single braid. This prevents tangling and knotting overnight. In the morning, undo the braid and gently brush through.
Brushing
Brush your hair every morning and night using a detangling brush. Be gentle near the bonds — don’t pull or tug.
Brush before washing, before plaiting for bed, and before styling.
Gym and Exercise
Your extensions are completely fine for the gym. Plait or tie your hair up during exercise to prevent tangling. Wash as normal afterwards if you’ve been sweating.
Colouring Your Extensions
Do not bleach or colour your extensions yourself. If you want to colour them, speak to us first — Russian virgin hair takes colour beautifully but needs to be done correctly to preserve the hair for reuse.
Regular Maintenance
Book your refit every 2 to 3 months depending on how quickly your hair grows. Regular maintenance keeps your extensions looking natural and your natural hair healthy underneath.
